Megabus

New York was GREAT!
I hit the Schomburg Center for Research on Black Culture
I got an Access card so I can use the collection all summer
Then I hit Hue-Mans Bookstore in Harlem, it was also great
There was a book signing going on, I caught a little of it
Then I went to see President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the first Black Woman president of an African country.
It was fabulous, I got pix and video - maybe I'll post some here
It was the best 50 cents I ever spent!!!
Totally digg'n Megabus

(It reminded me of the time I spent $5 bux and went to the 5 Spot in Philly - The Roots, Music and Bilal were there for an impromptu jam session)

Hi, I found your blog via meetup and wanted to know if you still do open mic poetry. And, if so, where and when.
Thanks,
Sharon

Greetings: Yup still performing but I don't usually have a "plan" per say. I just pick a spot off the calendar, sometimes my friends come with - if its a new piece, I might go solo. Next week I think I'm going to World Cafe Live. Here's a direct link to the calendar (if you haven't seen it):
